Ash Grave Sections
Niches
A niche is a small ash grave above ground level. A niche is also referred to as an ash well. The construction is octagonal ie this contains 8 niches. The central recess is for planting. One individual space is usually purchased and will accommodate two ash burials if the containers are small boxes. Some prefer to purchase two niches. The niches are numbered clockwise. Placing of garden benches is permitted.
Plaques of granite which have been engraved are cemented onto the recess and are also marked with the niche number. The cost of the plaque and engraving is a separate arrangement between the customer and the stonemason. From time to time the plaques benefit from a thorough cleaning (please refer to your stonemason) We do not recommend the use of white marble as this discolours significantly due to weathering. Please note that the use of white paint to fill in lettering is also not recommended as it wears off rapidly due to weathering.
The dimensions of the plaque are 300mm x 240mm
